According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on July 25, 2025, the US rig count fell by two to 542 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas rose by five to 122 units, and that for oil decreased by seven to 415 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 47 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count hiked by ten to 182 units from the previous week, including 128 oil rigs (up by eight week on week) and 54 gas rigs (up by two week on week). Canada’s rig number slid by 29 units compared to the same period a year ago.
