Brazil’s wire rod imports jump, exports decline in Aug

According to statistics from Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX), Brazil’s wire rod exports totaled roughly 19,000 tons in August, falling by 40% compared to the preceding month.

Among them, exports were mainly to South American countries, with around 18,000 tons, followed by 800 tons to Canada and 500 tons to the Dominican Republic. The supply from ArcelorMittal accounted for the largest share, totaling about 18,500 tons.

During the same period, Brazil’s wire rod imports reached approximately 12,000 tons, a month-on-month surge of 287%. Among them, China was the biggest import source with about 11,000 tons.
