US’ OCTG imports grow in Jul m-o-m, y-o-y, South Korea still leads supply

According to preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 155,000 tons of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) in July, rising by 16% compared to the previous month and by 66% from the same month a year ago.

South Korea was still the leading source of US OCTG imports, supplying nearly 70,000 tons, followed by Taiwan with 25,000 tons, Canada with 19,000 tons, and Austria with 10,000 tons.

In terms of value, OCTG imports were approximately US$192 million in July, up by 17% month on month and by 34% year on year.
