Vallourec secures Petrobras order for anti-scaling OCTG solution

Vallourec, a global leader in premium seamless tubular solutions in France, secured a new order from Brazilian oil and gas company Petrobras for its Submagnético Free Flow oil country tubular goods (OCTG) solution.

The order covers the production and installation of over 30 units in Brazil's offshore pre-salt fields. The technology applies a magnetic field to extracted fluids, reducing inorganic scaling on the production string.

This solution is expected to reduce operators' costs by limiting well cleaning intervention, decreasing scale inhibitor consumption, and cutting production downtime.

Co-developed with Petrobras, the Submagnético Free Flow technology underwent extensive qualification testing. Vallourec Senior Vice President Jérôme Favre said the order confirms the technology's growing acceptance as a standard anti-scaling solution for offshore production.
