US’ line pipe imports grow in Jul y-o-y

According to final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 44,000 tons of line pipes in July, a 23% drop from the previous month and a 10% increase compared to the same month last year.

South Korea was the leading supplier of line pipes to the US, exporting around 25,000 tons during the period, a month-on-month decrease of 16.5% and a year-on-year growth of 47%. India ranked second with roughly 5,200 tons, followed by Romania’s 2,200 tons and Brazil’s 2,100 tons.

In terms of value, imports totaled roughly US$22 million, down by 12% month on month and by 1.8% year on year.
