Taiwan’s wire rod market awaits demand rebound

27 Oct 2025 16:45 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Taiwan's wire rod market remained soft last week, with light trading volume continuing a weak trend, despite firm raw material costs like iron ore and stable wire prices in China. Downstream screw demand has not yet recovered.

In China, wire prices stabilized following expectations of favorable policies after the Fourth Plenary Session and a slight easing of US-China trade tensions.

Looking ahead, a resilient raw material sector hints that the domestic wire rod market will likely remain stable-to-weak in the short term. However, improved global economic sentiment, including expected US interest rate cuts and a potential US-China leaders' meeting, fuels market expectations for increased purchasing activity soon.
