Baker Hughes: US & Canada’s rig counts grow w-o-w

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on October 24, 2025, the US rig count grew by two to 550 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas kept flat at 121 units, and that for oil was up by two to 420 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 35 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count increased by one to 199 units from the previous week, including 138 oil rigs (up by two week on week) and 61 gas rigs (unchanged week on week). Canada’s rig number dropped by 17 units compared to the same period a year ago.
