Baker Hughes: US & Canada’s rig counts drop w-o-w

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on October 31, 2025, the US rig count fell by four to 546 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas rose by four to 125 units, and that for oil was down by six to 414 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 39 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count decreased by 12 to 187 units from the previous week, including 127 oil rigs (down by 11 week on week) and 60 gas rigs (down by one week on week). Canada’s rig number dropped by 26 units compared to the same period a year ago.
