Bolivia's Mutún Steel Complex begins full operations, producing corrugated bars and wire rods

Bolivia's steelmaker Mutún Steel Complex has completed all testing and technical adjustment phases and officially commenced production of corrugated bars and wire rods.

According to CEO Jorge Alvarado Rivas, the complex, located in Puerto Suárez, will supply the local market with a stable output. 

At full capacity, Mutún Steel Complex will have an annual production of 200,000 tons, generating 700 direct jobs and more than 2,000 indirect jobs. The complex will also supply half of Bolivia's domestic steel demand.
