EMSTEEL, the largest steel manufacturer in the UAE, has selected Primetals Technologies as a technology partner for the EMSTEEL Asset Enhancement Programme at its Abu Dhabi facility. The projects include a new, state-of-the-art wire rod outlet at Rebar Mill No. 05 and an upgrade to the wire rod mill at RM No. 03.

The new outlet will utilize advanced equipment, including the eDrive Morgan No-Twist Mill, Morgan Reducing/Sizing Mill, and Morgan Stelmor conveyor, expanding EMSTEEL’s product line to include plain and rebar-in-coil. These technical additions will enable thermomechanical rolling and allow EMSTEEL to enter higher-quality markets such as seismic rebar and pre-stressed concrete (PC) strand.

The upgrades will be constructed offline to ensure continuous production, focusing on better product quality, tighter tolerances, and optimized operational costs for the UAE steel producer.
