Ukrzaliznytsia signed an agreement with Austria’s voestalpine Rail Technology GmbH to supply an additional 10,000 tons of rails, securing materials for major repairs on another 80 km of track.

The procurement is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development under the Emergency Support to Ukrainian Railways project. With this new deal, total contracted supplies reach about 46,000 tons, supporting construction and repairs across 358 km of track.

The extra rails will help complete major repairs, increase train speeds, and expand capacity. Ukrzaliznytsia also continues receiving rails from France’s Saarstahl Rail, which delivered over 1,000 tons in January under a contract of up to 19,000 tons for 145 km of track connecting Kyiv with major cities.
