US section beam exports drop in Aug m-o-m, y-o-y

15 Dec 2025 15:01 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), in August, the US exported around 19,000 tons of section beams, including U, I, H, L, and T section steels. This volume reflected a slight 1% dip compared to July; however, it showed a substantial 51% plunge when compared to the export figures from the same month last year.

Despite the falling volume, the export value for these products presented a contrasting trend. The total value for August was roughly US$28 million, a month-on-month hike of 15%. Year-on-year, the export value was 30% lower, reflecting a reduction in trade volumes compared to the previous year's level.
