Australia suggests increasing AD duties on steel reinforcing bars from China

26 Dec 2025 16:12 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission proposed to raise the rate of interim dumping duties on China’s steel reinforcing bar from 19% to 23.7%, applied on April 14, 2026.

The Commission worried that ending these measures would be likely to lead to a continuation of dumping and the material injury to the Australian market. The current measures are due to expire on April 13, 2026.

A final recommendation is expected to be submitted to the Minister for Industry and Science by February 9, 2026.

The Commission proposed to apply a floor price for Baowu Group Echeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. instead of a 23.7% dumping duty.

The products involved are under HS codes 7213.10.00.42, 7214.20.00.47, 7227.90.10.69, 7227.90.90.01, 7227.90.90.02, 7227.90.90.04, 7228.30.10.70, 7228.30.90.40, and 7228.60.10.72.
