USITC moves to final phase of AD & CVD probes on rebar imports

31 Dec 2025 15:44 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has scheduled the final phase of its investigations into concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) from Algeria, Bulgaria, Egypt, and Vietnam. This move follows a preliminary finding by the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) that Algerian rebar was sold at less-than-fair-value. These investigations aim to determine if these imports cause material injury or hinder the growth of the American steel industry.

While the ruling against Algerian pricing is already official, decisions regarding alleged subsidies in Algeria, Egypt, and Vietnam remain pending. Also, preliminary results on whether Bulgaria, Egypt, and Vietnam sold rebar at unfair prices are still under review.

A formal report is due on February 17, 2026, with the final hearing scheduled for March 3, 2026.
