Baker Hughes: US rig counts rise, Canada’s fall w-o-w

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on December 30, 2025, the US rig count rose by one to 546 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas fell by two to 125 units, and that for oil increased by three to 412 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 43 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count decreased by 17 to 110 units from the previous week, including 49 oil rigs (down by ten week on week) and 52 gas rigs (down by seven week on week). Canada’s rig number rose by 7 units compared to the same period a year ago.
