Saipem, a leading global company in engineering and construction for energy and infrastructure, recently won a contract from Turkish Petroleum OTC to expand the Sakarya gas field in the Black Sea.

This US$425 million project involves the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of three pipelines spanning 153 kilometers. These new lines will link the Goktepe field, located at a depth of 2,200 meters, to Sakarya phase 3 facilities.

The project lasts about two and a half years and aims to increase natural gas production. Saipem plans to use its Castorone pipelay vessel for the offshore work during the second half of 2027. This agreement builds upon a previous contract signed in September 2025, solidifying Saipem's role in Turkey's energy infrastructure development.
