French pipe manufacturer Vallourec announced a supply chain partnership with XGS Energy, a US developer of next-generation geothermal technology, to help advance large-scale geothermal energy projects in the western United States.

The collaboration covers a three-gigawatt pipeline of future commercial geothermal projects, with Vallourec providing key pipe solutions.

XGS plans to launch a 150-megawatt geothermal power plant in New Mexico, and a stable supply of high-temperature pipes is considered essential for project progress.

Vallourec stated that it will leverage its engineering and manufacturing expertise and utilize vacuum-insulated pipe technology to reduce thermal loss, enhance the long-term operational efficiency of geothermal systems, and deepen its renewable energy strategy.
