Baker Hughes: US rig counts flat, Canada’s rise for week ending Feb 20

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on February 20, 2026, the US rig count was flat at 551 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas was unchanged at 133 units, and that for oil was also stable at 409 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 41 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count increased by two to 224 units from the previous week, including 153 oil rigs (unchanged week on week) and 71 gas rigs (up by two week on week). Canada’s rig number fell by 20 units compared to the same period a year ago.
