Recently, Ansteel Wire Rope Company has successfully developed and manufactured a 7,250-meter, 2160 MPa high-strength, high-toughness galvanized compacted strand steel wire rope with a solid polymer core (SPC), setting a new domestic record for the longest passenger ropeway steel wire rope in China.

The product has been successfully applied to the Mérida Cable Car project in South America. The system is recognized as one of the highest and longest passenger ropeways in the world, with an elevation difference exceeding 4,000 meters, imposing extremely stringent requirements on the traction rope’s strength and stability.

The customized wire rope supplied by Ansteel features a nominal tensile strength of 2160 MPa, a single length of 7,250 meters, and a coil weight of 36 tons, fully meeting the demanding specifications of the project.

This accomplishment highlights the global competitiveness of China’s high-end steel wire rope manufacturing industry.
