Baker Hughes: US & Canada’s rig counts decrease for week ending Feb 27

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on February 27, 2026, the US rig count was down by one to 550 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas rose by one to 134 units, and that for oil fell by two to 407 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 43 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count decreased by ten to 214 units from the previous week, including 145 oil rigs (down by eight week on week) and 69 gas rigs (down by two week on week). Canada’s rig number fell by 34 units compared to the same period a year ago.
