US' AD tariffs on rebar expected to have limited impact on Hoa Phat

17 Mar 2026 15:23 reported by Chloe Jiao

A A A
The US preliminary anti-dumping (AD) duty of 121.97% on Hoa Phat’s steel concrete reinforcing bars (rebar) is expected to have a limited impact on the company, as the US market accounts for only a small share of its revenue.

Hoa Phat is the main respondent in the US Department of Commerce’s investigation into rebar imports from Vietnam. However, this product segment represents only a minor portion of the group’s overall business.

Estimates show that exports subject to the investigation account for less than 1% of total output, indicating that the direct impact on operations is likely to be minimal in the short term.

The final decision on the tariff is expected to be announced by US authorities in July 2026.
