Baker Hughes: US rig counts rise, Canada’s fall for week ending Mar 13

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on March 13, 2026, the US rig count was up by two to 553 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas rose by one to 133 units, and that for oil was also up by one to 412 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 39 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count decreased by eight to 197 units from the previous week, including 131 oil rigs (down by eight week on week) and 65 gas rigs (unchanged week on week). Canada’s rig number fell by two units compared to the same period a year ago.
