US’ OCTG imports grow in Jan m-o-m, South Korea leads supply

According to preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 93,000 tons of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) in January, rising by 23% compared to the previous month but falling by 61% from the same month a year ago.

South Korea was the leading source of US OCTG imports in January, supplying about 31,000 tons, followed by Austria with 14,000 tons. Taiwan ranked third with about 14,000 tons.

In terms of value, OCTG imports were approximately US$113 million, up by 18% month on month and plummeting by 62% year on year.
