Baker Hughes: US & Canada’s rig counts fall w-o-w for week ending Mar 27

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on March 27, 2026, the US rig count was down by nine to 543 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas fell by four to 127 units, and that for oil dropped by five to 409 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 49 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count decreased by 24 to 153 units from the previous week, including 58 gas rigs (down by five week on week) and 95 oil rigs (down by nineteen week on week). Canada’s rig number fell by ten units compared to the same period a year ago.
