Baker Hughes: US & Canada’s rig counts down w-o-w for week ending Apr 10

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on April 10, 2026, the US rig count was down by three to 545 units compared to the previous week.

Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas fell by three to 127 units, that for oil remained flat at 411 units, and miscellaneous rigs were also unchanged at seven. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 38 units, or approximately 7%.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count decreased by seven to 135 units from the previous week, including 52 gas rigs (down by two week on week), 83 oil rigs (down by five week on week), and zero miscellaneous rigs (unchanged week on week). Canada’s rig number fell by eight units compared to the same period a year ago.
