Taiwan’s Feng Hsin keeps rebar, scrap, section steel prices steady for this week

Feng Hsin Steel Co., Ltd., a leading long steel producer in Taiwan, maintained current price levels this week for rebar, scrap, and section steel. The prices remain at NT$18,900 per ton for rebar, NT$9,900 per ton for scrap, and NT$24,500 per ton for section steel. This decision ends a seven-week streak of rebar price increases.

Market conditions, including low trading volume and New Taiwan Dollar appreciation, prompted this pause. Market participants are now watching how international billet volatility might influence future orders.

In terms of the global market, raw material costs rose, with Japanese H2 scrap reaching US$375 per ton, US containerized scrap at US$362 per ton, and Australian iron ore at US$108.1 per ton. US bulk scrap remained without quotes.
