A new US$125 million venture between US and Indian investors will establish a metal pipe manufacturing facility in the Quweira Industrial Zone. This plant occupies a 350-dunum site and aims to supply the National Water Carrier Project and the Risha gas initiative.

With an annual capacity of 500,000 tons of metal pipes, the factory intends to meet local infrastructure needs and support international exports.

The project is expected to generate approximately 450 jobs, primarily for Jordanian nationals. These pipes will serve a 450-kilometre pipeline transporting desalinated water from Aqaba to Amman and other governorates.

This water initiative utilizes Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology and plans to integrate 30% renewable energy by 2030.

Eventually, the entire operation will transition to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation as a national asset.
