Taiwan’s Feng Hsin hikes section steel prices, maintains prices for rebar & scrap

Feng Hsin Steel Co., Ltd., a leading long steel producer in Taiwan, kept prices for rebar and scrap steady this week but increased section steel prices by NT$500 per ton. The new price for section steel reached NT$25,000 per ton.

The company opted to hold rebar rates steady to manage regional price gaps between northern and southern Taiwan, as previous discounts already influenced current market positions.

Raw material trends show upward movement. Australian iron ore rose to US$112.3 per ton from its previous level of US$109.05. US containerized scrap had a slight increase to US$364 per ton. Japanese H2 scrap and US bulk scrap provided no new quotes last week.
