Toyo Kohan signed a virtual power purchase agreement (PPA) with HSE Corporation to acquire 18 GWh of environmental value annually from three onshore wind farms utilizing the Feed-in Premium (FIP) system.

Brokered by HSE as an aggregator, the agreement aims to lower Toyo Kohan's greenhouse gas emissions by around 8,700 tons per year. The specified facilities include Manyonosato, Noshiro First, and Noshiro Second wind farms, which provide varying shares of their power output.

This renewable deployment represents the first wind power-derived renewable energy and the first virtual PPA for the group.

The initiative supports Toyo Kohan’s Eco Action Plan 2030, which targets a 50% emission reduction by the fiscal year 2030 and carbon neutrality by the fiscal year 2050, helping supply roughly 25% of the electricity at its Kudamatsu Plant.
