Maghreb Steel, a leading flat steel producer in Morocco, is planning to launch a green steel production project at its plant in Casablanca, using green hydrogen to reduce carbon emissions. The new products will be mainly supplied to the automotive industry and home appliance manufacturers to meet the needs of sustainable development.

Chairman Mohammed Yahya Zniber said that in order to meet the automotive industry's demand for galvanized steel, the company will add new equipment and increase its capacity utilization rate from 50% to 80%. The project will cost 1 billion dirhams and cooperate with the Swiss Duferco Group to obtain technical support, low-carbon production experience, and access to the international market.
