ArcelorMittal Brazil has introduced the XCarb® Spring Flat Bar for the automotive market. It is made from 100% recycled steel and 100% certified renewable energy, which reduces CO2 emissions by more than 60%.

Developed at the Barra Mansa unit (RJ) as part of the global XCarb® program, the product is used in leaf springs for heavy vehicle suspensions and is the first in the XCarb® line for the automotive field.

Developed in partnership with AESA, a leaf spring manufacturer committed to reducing CO2 emissions, this new solution supports sustainable production in the transportation sector, a major source of carbon emissions.
