Ecuador planned to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 7%, equivalent to 8.8 million metric tons of CO2e, by 2035, lowering projected emissions from 130 million tons to 121.2 million tons of CO2e through more renewable energy, sustainable production, and mobility.

With additional international funding, Ecuador aims for an 8% drop in its GHG emissions, equal to a 15% reduction, totaling 10.6 million tons of CO2e, bringing emissions down to 110 million tons of CO2e in 2035. The total cost of these mitigation measures is estimated at roughly US$6.5 billion.
