On February 21, 2025, the Ministry of Economy of Argentina announced the launch of the first anti-dumping (AD) sunset review on aluminum foil originating in China, following the application submitted by the domestic company Aluar Aluminio Argentino S.A.I.C. Meanwhile, a review of the change of circumstances was also initiated.

The products involved are aluminum foils with a thickness greater than or equal to 0.006 mm but less than or equal to 0.2 mm and a width less than or equal to 1,300 mm, excluding smooth ones which have aluminum content greater than or equal to 99.2%, by weight, of a thickness less than or equal to 6 mm and of a width less than or equal to 500 mm.

The existing imposition of the AD duty, with a rate of 28%, will be suspended until the result of the review is issued. This duty rate was confirmed in the final determination on March 9, 2020, and was valid for five years.
