India’s Ministry of Finance has decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping (AD) duty on aluminum foil imports from China, with a duty ranging from US$619 to US$873 per ton, valid for six months. The measure is to ease pressure from cheap Chinese imports on India’s domestic producers.

The products involved are aluminum foil with a thickness of up to 80 microns, excluding aluminum foil below the thickness of 5.5 microns for non-capacitor application. These products are under HS codes 7607 11 10, 7607 11 90, 7607 19 10, 7607 19 91, 7607 19 92, 7607 19 93, 7607 19 94, 7607 19 95, 7607 19 99, 7607 20 10, and 7607 20 90.
