EMSTEEL Group, one of the largest steel and building materials producers in the UAE, has announced a strategic partnership with Yellow Door Energy, the leading sustainable solar energy company, to develop the largest industrial solar rooftop project in the UAE. 

Construction is scheduled to start in 2025. This is part of the group’s goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050.

Under the agreement, Yellow Door Energy will be responsible for the financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the project.

Yellow Door Energy would install a photovoltaic system consisting of rooftop and carport solar panels on the factory roof, which is expected to generate approximately 50 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 16,000 metric tons per year over the next 25 years.

All renewable electricity produced will be consumed directly by EMSTEEL, helping to reduce energy costs and significantly lower its carbon footprint. This plan will set a new benchmark for the use of renewable energy in the UAE steel industry.
