Tenova & Coolbrook collaborate to promote new technology in CO2 emission reduction

18 Apr 2025 14:15 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Tenova, an Italian company providing sustainable, innovative, and reliable solutions, is partnering with Finnish technology company Coolbrook for the development and deployment of Coolbrook's RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) technology. This collaboration is to replace fossil fuel burning with clean electricity for high-temperature heating in the iron, steel, and wider metals industries, thereby supporting decarbonization.

Coolbrook's RDH™ technology can achieve decarbonization through generating temperatures exceeding 1000°C and even reaching up to 1700°C, potentially reducing global CO2 emissions by over 2.4 billion tons annually if widely adopted.

Initially, the partnership will focus on implementing RDH™ technology into Tenova's proprietary technology for acid regeneration plants, with plans to expand to broader industrial applications in the future.
