Egypt and Saudi Arabia seeking cooperation on green energy sector

Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, recently met with Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman in Riyadh. The two sides reaffirmed their long-standing historical friendship and deepening strategic partnership, especially in energy cooperation.

Minister Abdelatty indicated that Egypt is strategically located and has abundant natural resources to expand bilateral cooperation. He mentioned that the Egypt-Saudi Arabia power interconnection project is a typical example of energy integration in the Arab world. They also indicated that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are ready to cooperate on green hydrogen production and renewable energy projects. 

The two countries also planned to promote the technological fields and automotive industry. Moreover. Abdelatty also called on both sides to explore the mining sector.
