Israel will impose temporary tariffs as high as 146% on Chinese aluminum imports after finding that Chinese manufacturers were exporting these products at dumped prices.

The Ministry of Economy launched an investigation in July 2024 based on complaints submitted by three domestic companies and will now apply levies ranging from 61% to 146% on aluminum profiles and tubes, based on CIF prices.

This temporary measure aims to stop the ongoing injury to the local industry and to curb the rise in imports at below-market prices. The Manufacturers Association of Israel also lauded the move as crucial for safeguarding the domestic industry.

This provisional measure will be valid for six months, and the Ministry of Economy is scheduled to make a final decision before the due date.
