General Aluminum Manufacturing Company, an aluminum casting producer in Huntington, has announced its permanent closure, impacting 62 employees.

The company, which produces machined aluminum castings for both automotive and non-automotive industries, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on May 29.

Layoffs will occur in phases, with the first round beginning in late August and the final group of 20 employees dismissed by September 26.

A reason for the closure was not provided, and the WARN notice indicated that no separation benefits would be offered to the affected workers by the company.
