On June 23, 2025, Australia's Anti-Dumping Commission announced a first anti-dumping (AD) sunset review investigation on imports of aluminum extrusions (surface finished) from Malaysia, following an application filed by domestic company Capral Limited.

The investigation period is from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and the injury examination period begins on April 1, 2021.

The Commission expects to complete its statement of essential facts (SEF) by October 14, 2025, and submit its final report to the Minister for Industry and Science by November 28, 2025.

The products involved are aluminum extrusions made from 1xxx, 2xxx, 3xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, or 7xxx series alloys with a surface finish (mechanical, painted, powder-coated, anodized, or other, excluding mill-finish). They have a wall thickness or diameter over 0.5 mm, weigh up to 27 kg per meter, and fit within a 421 mm diameter circle. The subject goods are under HS codes 7604.10.00.06, 7604.21.00.07, 7604.21.00.08, 7604.29.00.09, 7604.29.00.10, 7608.10.00.09, 7608.20.00.10, 7610.10.00.12, and 7610.90.00.13.
