AGI Greenpac, an Indian glass container manufacturing company, planned an investment of Rs 1,000 crore to enter the aluminum can manufacturing market. The company will build a new manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh with an annual capacity of 1.6 billion beverage cans, targeting the growing premium packaging sector in India.

The construction will be carried out in two phases. The first phase of the project, with a capacity of 950 million cans, is expected to be operational by the third quarter of the fiscal year 2027-28. The goal is to reach full production by March 2030.

Sandip Somany, Chairman and Managing Director AGI Greenpac, said that this move has strong synergies with the company’s existing glass packaging business. It is doubling down on future-ready packaging to meet the evolving demand of the Indian consumer market.
