Slovenian aluminum producer Talum planned to complete a green transformation project worth over EUR 55 million by the end of 2025. The project shifts the company from primary aluminum to recycled aluminum production, which will reduce its environmental impact.

Marko Drobnic, President of the Management Board at Talum, said the project, focused on producing aluminum rods from recycled material, will cut greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy efficiency, contributing to Europe's circular economy goals.

The company secured EUR 16 million in financing from Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB) for equipment and working capital. Talum also planned to invest an additional EUR 60 million by 2030, which will help the company reach carbon-neutral production and grow its line of recycled aluminum products, such as poles and rondelles.
