Fortescue, one of the world’s largest iron ore producers, announced a global alliance during the United Nations General Assembly in New York to accelerate industrial decarbonization and develop the lowest-cost, 24/7 clean energy systems capable of outcompeting fossil fuels.

As part of this initiative, Fortescue chose Envision Energy as its strategic partner in wind and energy storage. The collaboration will leverage Envision’s expertise in wind turbines, integrated energy solutions, storage, and digital energy management to support Fortescue’s goal of achieving Real Zero emissions by 2030.

The companies signed a 132 MW turbine supply agreement for Fortescue’s first major wind project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Envision will provide EN182-7.8MW turbines paired with 188-metre Nabralift towers, designed for high efficiency and resilience in extreme weather.

Fortescue plans to install 2-3GW of wind and solar generation with large-scale storage, reinforcing both companies’ roles in building sustainable energy systems and advancing renewable infrastructure globally.
