IAI: Global alumina output drops by 3.3% in Sep m-o-m

According to data from the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), global alumina production totaled 12.884 million tons in September, falling by 3.3% from 13.321 million tons in the previous month.

Among them, production from China accounted for the largest proportion, with an estimated output of 7.95 million tons, followed by Oceania with 1.424 million tons and Africa and Asia (excluding China) with 1.207 million tons.

In the given period, chemical alumina output reached 746,000 tons, down from 808,000 tons in the preceding month; metallurgical alumina output was 12.138 million tons, sliding from 12.513 million tons in August.
