Steel Dynamics, Inc. has launched two lower-embodied-carbon steel product lines, BIOEDGE™ and EDGE™, to help customers reduce their emissions.

Both steels are made using electric arc furnace (EAF) technology and are matched with certified renewable energy or emission-free nuclear energy certificates to minimize Scope 2 emissions.

BIOEDGE achieves further decarbonization by replacing anthracite with renewable biocarbon, sourced from SDI Biocarbon Solutions, to cut Scope 1 emissions. This provides an innovative solution for companies in the automotive, construction, and renewable energy sectors looking to sustainably decarbonize their supply chains without sacrificing performance or quality.
