SSAB entered a partnership with EAB to supply fossil-free steel, including SSAB Zero™, for use in EAB’s warehouse fittings, doors, and steel buildings. SSAB Vice President of Sustainability Thomas Hörnfeldt said the company is taking concrete steps to reduce climate impact.

EAB has implemented SSAB Zero™ in the machine chassis of its Radioshuttle™, the company’s flagship warehouse management system designed to optimize storage space and reduce energy use.

Based in Smålandsstenar, Sweden, EAB develops, manufactures, and installs warehouse fittings, doors, and steel buildings for global markets, with sustainability central to its operations. The company aims to halve carbon emissions within ten years and has invested in solar power, sustainable transport, and climate-improved steel.

SSAB stated that traditional steelmaking is a significant source of CO₂ emissions and highlighted its fossil-free steel technologies, including SSAB Zero™ and SSAB Fossil-free™ steel.
