Constellium completes new aluminum foilstock lines for European battery market

Constellium, a French-based aluminum producer, has inaugurated new finishing lines at its Singen plant in Germany, completing a EUR 30 million investment with Lotte Infracell, a subsidiary of Lotte Aluminium.

This project equips the facility to supply high-quality aluminum foilstock for Europe's growing battery market, supporting the transition to e-mobility. The new capacity includes advanced edge trimming and packing lines, designed to handle coils up to 2,000 mm wide and 1.3 mm thick.

The facility produced its first qualification coil last month, beginning official production. To enhance sustainability, the new building features a solar power system expected to generate 760,000 kWh of renewable energy annually, reducing the plant's environmental impact. This investment establishes Singen as a major center for high-performance aluminum products.
