Xuan Thien Group signed a strategic investment and cooperation agreement with Primetals Technologies to build two green steel production lines. Under the agreement, Primetals will act as the technology partner, supplying advanced technological solutions, engineering expertise, and key plant equipment.

The partnership forms part of Xuan Thien’s plan to develop a green steel ecosystem. The project will combine electric arc furnace technology with ironmaking facilities powered by clean energy sources, including natural gas and, in the future, green hydrogen. This approach is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, align Vietnam’s steel industry with global sustainability trends, and meet international market standards.

The new production lines aim to strengthen Vietnam’s self-sufficiency in supplying raw materials for industries requiring high strength and large dimension steel, such as shipbuilding. The first complex will include an EAF Ultimate, while the second line will focus on endless hot-rolled coil production.
