Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a premium aluminum producer based in the UAE, plans to expand its EGA Leichtmetall operations near Hannover through a US$170 million investment.

This project introduces a new facility capable of sorting 110,000 tons of scrap and melting 153,000 tons per year. These figures represent a significant increase from the existing site’s 30,000-ton capacity.

The complex will integrate advanced furnace technology, automated scrap sorting, and salt recovery processes at a single location. EGA expects the first hot metal production by 2028.

This expansion will allow the company to greatly grow its recycled metal output in Europe using modern, integrated systems.
