Bridgnorth Aluminium, a leading manufacturer of flat rolled aluminum coils in the UK, is installing a refurbished £600,000 Schmutz line at its Shropshire facility to finish thinner gauge materials.

This equipment enables in-house slitting and winding for aluminum reels used in automotive cooling, underfloor heating, and data centers. Commissioning is set for completion by March, supporting customers across the UK, the EU, and the US.

The investment has led to a 10% increase in the finishing team and coincides with the company’s return to 24/7 operations in key areas.

Commercial Director Adrian Musgrave said that the strategy secures Bridgnorth Aluminium’s position as the UK’s final producer of flat rolled coils. Besides, the firm joined the Shropshire Investors in Community scheme to increase local engagement and support regional organizations.
